In-Kind Donations

Survivors fleeing domestic violence, often leave with literally just the clothes on their back. Your in-kind donations can help clients as they start a life of safety.

  • Sheets*

Does Daya accept clothing donations?

Daya does not accept clothing donations on an ongoing basis.  2-3 times per year, we partner with Reuse Textile & Recycling for clothing drives that are advertised on social media and our website. At these drives, we accept linens (in good condition) and clothing for all genders and sizes including South Asian clothes. ReuseTRS exports some donations overseas to support small second-hand clothing businesses. Other textiles are repurposed into thread and insulation.

While your clothing donations may not go directly to Daya clients, we receive 10 cents per pound of donated clothing - funds that go back to supporting our clients. Throughout the year when clients need clothing, our caseworkers visit the ReuseTRS warehouse and select clothing at no cost.

Supporting Daya’s clothing drives benefits our clients as well as the environment! If you are looking to donate clothing outside of our normal drive, we recommend donating to our partners at Dress for Success or Pennywise

Does Daya accept furniture donations?

Daya does not accept furniture donations due to capacity and storage space. We recommend that you donate to the Houston Furniture Bank. Throughout the year, Daya partners with HFB to obtain furniture for clients in need with no cost to the client. They have a large storage warehouse and offer delivery and pick up. By donating to HFB, you will help Daya clients and other vulnerable populations access furniture throughout the year.
